ABOUT THE ARTIST

David Parry is an internationally acclaimed wildlife artist who has travelled to many countries to observe, draw and paint a wide variety of subjects.

Trained at the Central School of Art, David was commissioned at the age of 25 to visit Zimbabwe to illustrate school books for the publishers, Longmans. The six month stay confirmed a passion for all things African and painting African wildlife and going on safari to different Eastern African countries became the most important aspect of his working life for many subsequent years. The resulting paintings have sold worlwide, mainly to private collectors.

His most recent safari was to Kenya, Masai Mara and Governors Camp with sketch book, binoculars and camera.

David's work has been widely reproduced by the National Trust and publishers: Royle , Salmon and Medici. He also finds time to paint portraits of people's domestic animals, particularly dogs which he loves.

For several years David has been commissioned by the Sultan of Oman to produce water colour paintings of the birds of Oman.

David Parry is also celebrated for his paintings of Cornwall, where he moved from Kent in 1977.  David's work now also includes the wildlife of Wiltshire, particularly Hares
